Welcome to Scimitar - sabre fencing club in London

The club was founded by Ian Williams, former Olympian and current Senior National Sabre coach to the British women and men's teams.

Scimitar is one of the few fencing clubs in the UK that specializes solely in Sabre. We welcome all adult Sabreurs regardless of age or experience - members range from once a week social fencers to past and present National Champions (both male and female).

The club has two London venues; we meet on Tuesdays in Barnes and Thursdays in Tufnell Park (visitors are welcome at both sessions). On Thursdays we also run a 10 week Beginners course.

At Scimitar the enjoyment of our members is of utmost importance, both on and off the piste. Part of our success has been due to the club's friendly atmosphere and active social side.
