Our Coaches

Scimitar employs two professional, BFA qualified coaches.

Ian Williams

During his competitive career Ian topped the British Mens Senior Sabre rankings eight times during the period 1989 -1998. He represented Great Britain at 3 Junior World Championships, 9 Senior World Championships and the 1992 Olympic Games. A number of Ian's students have won National honors and represented Great Britain on the World Cup circuit and at major championships. He is currently the Senior National Sabre Coach for both men and women. Ian is also Head Coach at Camden Fencing Club, which is a community based club for children, in Tufnell Park www.camdenfencingclub.org.uk.

Marinko Stepinac

Marinko is an experienced BFA Qualified Coach. He works at a number of schools in London. He is also a qualified sports injury therapist.
