The Scimitar League

• Launch date 12^th June 2007

• Entry is free to club members (i.e. they simply pay their normal club session fee – currently £5)

• Non-members will pay the visitors session fee rate (currently £10)

• All entries must be received by 12 noon Monday 11^th June 2007

• Entries received after this time will be placed in the bottom poule/poules
• Anybody joining the League in subsequent weeks will join the bottom poule

• The League organisers will seed the poules for the first week

• Each poule will be fenced on one piste using the standard FIE rules and bout order

• Matches are of five hits

• The results of each poule will be taken for the following League Night

• Top three fencers from each poule promoted (except top poule)
• Bottom three from each poule demoted (except bottom poule)

• After 12^th June, a fencer that holds a position in the League but does not compete on a “League night” will be automatically demoted to the poule below

• If more than three fencers are unable to compete in a poule, of those fencers, the three to be demoted will be the three that were lowest placed the previous “League night”.

• Any questions/disputes not covered within these rules will be decided by the Club Chairman.
