The Scimitar Trophy

• Entry is free to club members (i.e. they simply pay their normal club session fee – currently £5). Non-members will pay the visitors session fee rate (currently £10)

• Ranking will follow the same points scale as for FIE A grades:

32 points – 1^st

26 points – 2^nd

20 points – top 4 placing

14 points – top 8 placing

8 points – top 16 placing

4 points – top 32 placing

2 points – top 64 placing

· It will be a rolling ranking, with a fencer's best 6 results counting.  If two people have the same points total, then ranking will be based on highest individual placing.

· The first “Trophy” will be seeded from the Scimitar League final placings (i.e. June 2008). Anybody not appearing in the Scimitar League ranking will be unseeded. Subsequent months will be seeded based on the new “Scimitar Trophy” ranking ....in other words August will be based on July results, September on July and August results, etc.  If you do not compete in July, you will be unseeded for your first “Trophy” month.

· Latest check-in time is 7pm.  If delayed, then you must text/call the club phone (07894 908211) before 7pm. We will be starting at 7.15pm.  Anybody contacting us after 7pm and arriving after 7.30pm will not be able to fence in the competition.

· The competition format will be one round of poules, everybody will be promoted to the direct elimination stages.  The direct elimination will be without repecharge, and will be fought through to an eventual winner. We will not be fencing off for the 3rd/4th places.

· Due to the tight time schedule, the usual minimum ten minutes between direct elimination fights will not apply. The minimum time between bouts will be 2 minutes.

· Any points of discussion that arise, which are not stated above, will be decided at the organisers’ discretion.
